Rita Coolidge - Nice Feelin' (1971)

Rita Coolidge is an American singer.

Rita Coolidge followed her 1971 debut album with Nice Feelin', released just nine months later. It featured a similar mix of styles, as she sang on a strong collection of cover material including Neil Young's "Journey Through The Past", Graham Nash's "Better Days", Bob Dylan's "Most Likely You'll Go Your Way" and Dave Mason's "Only You Know And I Know" (which she had learnt whilst with Delaney & Bonnie and Friends with Mason). Backing came from the core band of Marc Benno (guitar), Charlie Freeman (guitar), Mike Utley (keyboards), Tommy McClure (bass) and Sammy Creason (drums). Benno and Utley both contributed some fine original songs as well. There were also guest appearances from Al Kooper (organ), Don Brooks (harmonica), Nick DeCaro (accordion) and Rusty Young (steel guitar).
Though it was another fine album, like its predecessor it failed to even break into the Top 100.
