Derek & The Dominos were a short-lived blues-rock supergroup led by guitarist Eric Clapton.
As a classic album, Layla & Other Assorted Love Songs has been re-issued on CD a number of times, with lots of previously unreleased material. This compilation puts together the best of the bonus songs into a 13-track album. It includes outtakes, alternative takes and a few live recordings. Of particular interest are some recordings of the band performing on The Johnny Cash Show, where they were joined by rockabilly legend Carl Perkins for a version of his own "Matchbox". It also has three very different versions of a great outtake - "Got To Get Better In A Little While" (a live version, a studio version and an instrumental jam). Though they didn't make the original album, versions of this song and "Roll It Over" did appear on 1973's In Concert.
It's a shame that Derek & The Dominos were only together long enough to record one album. Therefore it's fortunate that such good previously unreleased material has surfaced with the reissues, and can be put together into a new collection.

Am listening now and it is very fine indeed. Thanks.
The story behind Derek and The Dominoes is an education in rock and roll history. I recommend reading the Wikipedia page about Derek and The Dominoes. There is a combination of such joy and tragedy, so remarkable.
Thanks for all the great music here. Unfortunately links are expired for this one.
